Bizarre magazine interviews a Montreal gentleman named Rick who is tattooing his entire body to look like the living dead. From the interview (photo by Neville Elder):
What look are you trying to achieve with your tattoos?
They’re about the human body as a decomposing corpse – the art of a rotting cadaver. It’s also a tribute to horror movies, which I love.

Raise your hand if you'd like to be a fly on the wall the day this guy asks his girl's father for her hand in marriage.
The pre-release of teaser technology to get people hooked on the game is already turning some otherwise reasonably mature adults (blinking at my ketzl) into freaky-sex-crazed Spore-aholics. I checked out some of the colorful characters people have uploaded to YouTube. As you'll see, they're totally cocked up.
Another delightful find in my restless explorations for stuff to make you swoon. No idea who the artist is, alas.

FOUND: How they did it in 1880
These are over 125 years old -- and still incredibly unbelievably arousing. To me, anyway.
Other than the date I have no further information on these. Anyone care to speculate? Postcards? Private photos? Country of origin?

Stimulus plan stiffens economy
(Thanks to Mitch for this.)
There are two absolute truths in this world.
First, every plan that Bush has, backfires. The merde touch.
Second, there is virtually nothing that is bad for the porn industry.
And now, this is what you call synergy:
An unforeseen and surprising beneficiary of the Economic Stimulus Plan, a plan that George Bush contends will "boost our economy and encourage job creation," has surfaced this week. An independent market-research firm, AIMRCo (Adult Internet Market Research Company), has discovered that many websites focused on adult or erotic material have experienced an upswing in sales in the recent weeks since checks have appeared in millions of Americans' mailboxes across the country.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised....after all....Bush loves TWAT....
I imagine that Concerned Chameleons for America are complaining to their congressmen right now about these filthy perverts.
...a tiny chameleon from Madagascar spends two-thirds of its life inside its egg. Once it hatches, it engages in brutal sex, then dies before its offspring see the light of day....
Karsten thinks sex might be what kills the adults off after just 4 to 5 months. In as-yet-unpublished experiments, he studied the mating behaviour of F. labordi in enclosures and discovered that courtship is a risky business for both sexes.
"These males will fight fiercely in long, rather drawn-out combats, and their courtship behaviour is also rather violent," Karsten told New Scientist.
Violent sex means chameleons die young
It isn't only the males who are violent. From the same article, a male specimen:
And one of the species' Violent Femmes attacking a male.
The only good word to describe this chameleon's sex life would be sadomasochistic. I won't call it sadomasochism (because all good pervs know that what we mean when we say sadomasochism is not only safe, sane, and consensual but a conscious choice). But the word sadomasochistic applies and is, in my view, an unfortunate omission from this article. Reporters are given to using "sadomasochistic" to describe everything from violence to emotional abuse in humans -- and consistently use terms like "sadomasochistic" and "fetishistic" to apply to non-sexual behaviors. But the truth about sadomasochism -- that such behaviors are the seexual norm for many species, and evident throughout nature - never seems to get a nod.
So I'm nodding!
Whatever the environmental reasons, including the brevity of their life-spans, environment alone does not explain why this species, and innumerable others (not just insects and reptiles, but mammals and primates) are given to mixing in pain and aggression with orgasm and reproduction. Much more important, I believe, is the role of genetics, and how genes program androgens. If an exceptionally high level of androgens can explain SM tendancies in F. labordi perhaps one day we will be able to prove that geneticsdetemine SM tendancies in Homo sapiens too.

Deathly cuisine for darkists
Built by an enthusiastic undertaker who just LOVES his job, this sounds like the perfect destination for goths, vampires, and other folks with a fetish for dark pleasures.
I'll take a wild guess that it's BYOB (bring your own blood)
Ukrainian undertakers say they have built the world's first death-themed restaurant - in a 65ft long coffin.
From a feature on canoe.ca about outrageous ads, a handful of interestingly SM-y ones (some of which were pulled in response to complaints).
Popular Science pushing an issue on Egypt, suggests that there's an easier way to learn about the techniques involved in mummification. But the duct tape does have its charms, n'est-ce pas?
This one raised an uproar for being too violent and got pulled. But it certainly makes its point. Killer heels indeed.
And the obligatory rear hog-tie involving....OH NO! Not the Easter Bunny!
Gawker reported on an obscenity trial in Florida where the defense will be using Google stats to prove that everyone's got a bit of the perv in them.
Obscenity: Google to Prove You're a Sex-Fiend In Court
This is why Google has spent a decade collecting and preserving all the information it can gather about everyone on Earth: so it can prove in a court of law that your neighbors are perverts. There's an obscenity trial going on down in Florida, where life itself is generally obscene, against an icky hardcore pornographer (first they came for CumOnHerFace.com, and I said nothing, because I preferred alt-porn). In an obscenity trial, the prosecutors must prove that the material is in violation of "community standards." This is, obviously, a ridiculous yardstick. Everyone who watches movies knows that just below the friendly surface of American Suburbia lies violence, depravity, secret gay neighbors, and Dean Stockwell in eyeshadow. But jurors like to pretend that they've never enjoyed a little Skinimax. This is where Google—and your deepest, darkest secrets—come into play!
In the trial of a pornographic Web site operator, the defense plans to show that residents of Pensacola are more likely to use Google to search for terms like “orgy” than for “apple pie” or “watermelon.”
Clever defense -- but does this open the door to other lawyers in future cases demanding that Google cough up data, for example prosecutors who want to track down people who type in terms that might suggest users are seeking illegal info on-line?

Sunday Harvest chez Brame
Some of the stuff (minus bags of greenbeans) Jen harvested from our garden today.
A New Mexico appeals court on Friday ruled against a Los Alamos man who wanted to change his name to a phrase containing a popular four-letter obscenity.
The man appealed after a state district judge in Bernalillo County refused his request to change his name to "F--- Censorship!"
The man - whose current legal name is Variable - argued on appeal that it was improper government censorship to deny him the name change.
Judge Rejects 'Obscene' Name Change
Apparently this guy has already tangled with the courts on the same issue, forcing them to reach the clarification that now allowed them to turn him down:
That law was clarified in a 2004 case in the same court that apparently involved the same petitioner. In that case, an Albuquerque man whose name was Snaphappy Fishsuit Mokiligon got the go-ahead from the appeals court to change his name to Variable.
This case is starting to make me feel a bit snaphappy myself.
Child molestation: world's most under-reported crime
If you've been reading the news at all, you probably have been noticing that busts for child-sex criminals of all types have been on the rise. Yesterday, for example, a nation-wide operation arrested 345 alleged child predators, all accused of pimping/prostituting minors. As is always the case with these massive busts, the high number of arrests seldom leads to a similarly number of successful prosecutions. Sometimes it's because the law is blurry, or the kids involved won't cooperate, or the evidence was destroyed. Most times, though, it's because these large-scale operations tend to sweep up a lot of people who were either innocent, and more often, whose rights were violated (so the cases get kicked out before trial).
The fact is that child molestation and abuse of minors is and always has been a pervasive evil in the world. The concept of "age of consent" is actually something of a late-comer to human history. In former centuries, there were no laws to protect children and, in some cultures, tribes, and family groups, children were not only routinely sexually abused but, of course, were married or sold to the highest bidder. Many crimes we perceive to be examples of the evils of modern and progressive thinking are historic cultural institutions -- such as the child brothels that continue to operate in third world nations. Some -- such as arranged marriages for minors -- are religious ones. Western society has endorsed child-sex or at the very least closed a very blind eye to it, depending on period, place, and shifting morals. Only now are we finally beginning to seriously attempt to rule out sex with children, and we have been undertaking this effort by going after the worst of the worst, criminals who exploit children for financial gain.
Yet for all the commercial exploitation of children by predators and pimps, I think most therapists and doctors would have to agree that the single greatest risk for any child, and the single-most under-reported crime, is incest. The vast majority of abuses against children do not occur when they go into the world and encounter strangers: it's when they are in their own home, at the mercy of a relative or other trusted caretaker and authority figure.
I applaud everyone who is honestly trying to work to improve children's rights and to protect children from sex with adults, but writing a new law which makes child rape punishable by death is crazy.
Unbowed, politicians vow to execute child rapists
When Texas' leading politicians called loudly for the death penalty for repeat child rapists last year, they knew there was a good chance the U.S. Supreme Court might find the provision unconstitutional. Legal experts told them so – repeatedly.
...on Wednesday the Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision in a Louisiana case, did just that, ruling that "the death penalty is not a proportional punishment for the rape of a child."
Had the law gone through, it would have, in my opinion, harmed far more children then it helped. I agree with a statement issued by the the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault:
"We join sexual assault coalitions across the country in applauding the Supreme Court's step toward ensuring that prosecutions of child sexual assault across our nation remain victim-centered and child-friendly in their approach," said a prepared statement released by the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault.
Some organizations had warned legislators the law could result in victims being unwilling to prosecute or perpetrators less likely to leave their victims alive.
"Most child sexual abuse victims are abused by a family member or close family friend," the statement from the Texas association said. "The reality is that child victims and their families don't want to be responsible for sending a grandparent, cousin or long time family friend to death row."
Exactly.
I can hear all the depraved relatives telling their victims, "If you tell anyone, they'll kill me." How likely is it that any normal child would want that responsibility? Children who are molested by the people close to them would be less likely than ever to step forward, much less to testify in court. Even if the children wanted to, how much do you want to bet that other adults in the family would now make SURE that secret was safe?
We all want to protect children. But we can't protect them by creating an environment in which they're even more frightened to speak up when they're being hurt.
(BTW -- both John McCain and Barack Obama expressed disappointment that the legislation failed. IOW, both presidential candidates continue to prove they don't really believe in the Constitution. Lovely.)
Thanks to 5crows for submitting an update on "To Catch a Predator," a show whose motives I once questioned and whose tactics led to tragedy.
Settlement in NY lawsuit over NBC's 'Predator'
NBC Universal has settled a $105 million lawsuit brought by a woman who claimed a televised sex sting by "Dateline NBC: To Catch A Predator" drove her brother to kill himself.
"The matter has been amicably resolved to the satisfaction of both parties," said a statement released by both sides. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Lawyers put pretty faces on things but, gee, I wonder just how satisfied a sister could be knowing her brother died as a result of reporters trying to exploit people's worst instincts to create news.
Fom that you may infer just how amicable and satisfied I'd be feeling if anything like that ever happened to someone I loved. By now I would probably have hired every PI in America to dig into the dirt in Chris Hansen's life -- because everybody's got some, of that one can be sure. But God bless the woman who can forgive.
Patricia Conradt's lawsuit had claimed her brother, a suburban Dallas prosecutor, fatally shot himself after he was accused of engaging in a sexually explicit online chat with an adult posing as a 13-year-old boy...
If you can remember back to Mark Foley, the politician caught doing the very same thing...you might also remember that the charge against the Dallas attorney was the result of the legislation Foley himself underwrote. Can anyone doubt that the worst enemies of gays and lesbians are the self-hating closet cases?
Luckily for the plaintiffs, a judge saw through NBC's defense.
In February, a federal judge issued a scathing ruling in the case, saying a jury might conclude the network "crossed the line from responsible journalism to irresponsible and reckless intrusion into law enforcement."
U.S. District Judge Denny Chin said the lawsuit contained sufficient facts to make it plausible that the suicide was foreseeable, that police had a duty to protect Conradt from killing himself and that the officers and NBC acted with deliberate indifference.
Meanwhile, if you have derived a sick thrill from watching Americans entrap other Americans into committing crimes against children, surf on.
New episodes of "To Catch A Predator" ended in December, with the future of the series uncertain.

FOUND: Monk-y sex
This find was dated from the 1870s. Some fetishes never change....
FYI, I blogged this when the guy got caught. And may I say...the sentence seems a bit stiff....
Man caught having sex with table gets 6 months
Police say a man was arrested after admitting to, and being caught on DVD having sex with his picnic table repeatedly.
Investigators say they received a tip that Art Price Jr., 40, of 146 Brinker St. in Bellevue was having sex with a picnic table while outside on the deck. The incidents occurred between January and March 2008.
Police say on March 13, the tipster dropped off three DVDs which showed Price in the act. On four occasions, Price is seen naked and masturbating in the rear room near the open doorway; he then comes out to the deck. He tilts the metal round picnic table on its side and lays up against it and has sexual intercourse with the table. Afterwards he cleans the table and the deck.

What's wrong with this ad?
So I heard that Heinz created a sexually suggestive ad for their new "Deli Mayo." Ooh. Sexually suggestive. *perk* I thought perhaps the mayo would be spurting or oozing from a frankfurter or something equally gross-yet-funny. But no. Here it is.
And now...Heinz has pulled this cute ad because of 202 complaints from viewers that it is "offensive."
Offensive to whom? Ketchup lovers?
Homophobia is sick--and sickening. As far as I'm concerned, homophobia should be listed in the DSM as a pathology, particularly since it leads to violence.
And 202 is such a tiny number. Can't people who have a clue start organizing to praise corporations which attempt to live in the 21st century by playfully acknowledging diversity?? I'm guessing there have to be many thousands of us who would be willing to write Heinz to support their use of progressive themes to sell products. Why does the nut-wing always win these ridiculous battles. GRRRRR.
